A Bevy of Gimogash Patches?!
Gimogash 214 is arguably the hardest lodge for name/number collectors. It was a small lodge located in a military that existed primarily during the WW2 years. It disappeared sometime around 1947. There are only two patches known to be from this lodge. Patches from the Gimogash honor society are often confused for issues from this lodge, and in fact the first of this lodge’s issues was probably also used by that honor society before the OA lodge was chartered. I can remember when less than a half dozen copies were known to be in collections.
In recent years a few more have shown up, acquired by collectors and dealers who were actively seeking out the former members of this lodge. Still, a one could expect to give at least $20,000 for this badge… if you could find someone with one to sell.
That now seems to be changing. I have been made aware of at least three that have turned up within the past year! One was sold on eBay last November. The same seller now has another available on eBay. He’s a former member of the lodge who is selling this piece for a fellow lodge brother.
Now that the former members of this lodge are all elderly, and the patch known to command a large price, how many more of these will turn up in the next few years?

The interesting question will be whether someone can get a local paper to write a “Man’s Attic Find Gets $10K+ On Ebay” story, especially with a picture. That would really shake the trees a bit and who knows what might fall out.
How many do exist without the moths eating at them. A good friend once told me better to obtain one in whatever condition and upgrade later. I agree with the above poster, if a paper in the original lodges town wrote an article, it could help.
