Occoneechee lodge has recently issued two new LLD rounds. One is for participants and the other for staff.

These were hurriedly ordered from Moritz after it was thought that there were insufficient stock of the previous version, R15 and R16, produced by BSA supply. Moritz graciously produced these with virtually no lead time. In the rush the fleur d’lis was left off and the slogan was incorrectly rendered as “Every Arrowman Deserves A Trained Leaders.”

Tentative Blue Book information for these new issues is as follows:

Issue Bdr Color/Type Bkgd Name fdl/BSA Comments
R18? RMY R M/C RED LLD; no fdl, “…A Trained Leaders”
R19? RMY R M/C RED LLD; no fdl, “…A Trained Leaders”, staff

Just wanted to follow up on this. We asked Moritz to do something that technically could not be done….produce a patch in 2.5 weeks time. We are forever thankful to them for getting this emblem to us in time. Nobody likes to see a youth fail in his responsibility and they didn’t either. We applaude them for helping us out in a bind. I am sure that they would make this right with the lodge but we are not asking them to do that. We left out the step of proofing the artwork in order to save time. Maybe that wasn’t the best decision, but who like to go away from the event w/o their patch? We will continue to use them exclusively as they have bent over backwards for us.

    John,

The borders on these are actually RMY. Sorry ’bout the poor scan quality as it does look as though they are just red and not mylar.

I just changed it to read RMY instead of RED. Thanks.

Gotta ask: how many of Fagin’s minions were present trading off “staff” versions that depicted police cars and firetrucks?

Actually, I saw no patch tradin’ the whole week-end at this event. Strange but true! I guess we all had larnin’ on our minds, lol
