Lodge 104: 2006 NOAC Error Flap Found
This image was recently sent to me. Those familiar with Occoneechee’s 2006 NOAC pieces may notice the error almost immediately. The thunderbird is seen here holding the Prince of Wales Trophy, which he only holds on the white bordered F5.
I have talked to my usual sources within this lodge. It is not a fake of any type. Rather it appears to be a manufacturer’s error that someone got into the supply of patches sent to the lodge when they reordered the black bordered fundraiser set.
One of these was found locally within the lodge’s inventory. There are no examples of a matching bottom piece for this error known within the lodge.
Although their origins are slightly different, in terms of rarity this patch is on par with the QS1 from Tsoiotsi Tsogalii 70, a piece currently belived to be unique.
The suggested Blue Book listing for this piece is:
| Issue | Bdr Color/Type | Bkgd | Name | fdl/BSA | Comments | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| YF1? | BLK | R | LBL | WHT | BLK | fdl; Thunderbird holds Prince of Wales Trophy as in F5, border color error |
