Peculiarly Similar Patches?

I was recently sent an image by Jeff Ansley of a chapter patch from the Hyas Lamonte chapter of Lo La ‘Qam Geela 491.   To be honest, there’s nothing extraordinary about the design.   It’s rather plain.  Even though it fails to explicitly identify the lodge, it serves the purpose of identifying members of the chapter.  Presumably a knowledgeable person could figure out what lodge this is from based upon the unusual chapter name.

However, I thought the shape and color scheme was a bit peculiar:  I’ve seen it before. Continue Reading »

Spring Has Arrived

After a rather odd winter — a warm January followed a chilly February, and no ice storms of note — Spring seems to have arrived on cue here in the Piedmont of North Carolina.
