Posted in Scouting News by John E. Pannell on April 8th, 2007 at 11:44 pm This weekend Fox News (http://www.foxnews.com/) aired an interview with James Calderwood who earned every single merit badges, 122 in all. The interview was very well done and is currentlly on Fox News’ website.
Interestingly enough there are currently only 121 merit badge. He earned both the Atomic Energy and Nuclear Science merit badges, though the latter superseded the former during his tenure in Scouts. He wears three merit badge sashes. He’s a Scout in the National Capital Area Council.
James is now 18 and plans to eventually attend medical school. He’s done medical work in Peru, Guatemala and Kenya. He has also climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.
His last merit badge? Bugling. He says it was difficult for him since he was never musically inclined. He practiced while in Kenya. He says his favorite was Photography.
