Lodge 221: 2007 Dixie Delegate Patch

Posted in Muscogee 221, SR-5 Lodges by John E. Pannell on April 20th, 2007 at 12:35 am

Muscogee lodge has recently  issued its first Dixie delegate patch this century.   Thanks to Brad Hutto for the image.

It also pays homage to the lodge’s 65th anniversary.     Note the small “65″ between the lodge totem and the LBL fleur d’lis.

“Diamonds Are Forever”.       I wonder:   will the lodge will be adopting a James Bond theme for this conclave?     The “Diamond Anniversary” is traditionally the 60th anniversary, not 65th.

The proposed Blue Book listing for this item should be:

Issue Bdr Color/Type Bkgd Name fdl/BSA Comments
X2? SMY C LBL BLK LBL fdl;  Dixie 07, Diamonds Are Forever, (65th Anniversary)

Diamond is both 60th and 75th, actually; I think 75th is the more common designation for entities while 60th is used for wedding anniversaries. The BSA had some “Diamond Jubilee” issues in 1970 but nowhere near as many as appeared in 1985.

Yes, thanks to Queen Victoria, “diamond” is used for both the 60th and 75th anniversaries. But this is Muscogee’s SIXTY-FIFTH anniversary.

I’m going with them doing the James Bond thing. ;)

  3. Brad Hutto Says:

Yes the James Bond theme is the correct answer; the 65 is for our 1942-2007 ann
