Lodge 118: Unknown and Unlisted Patches

Posted in SR-7B Lodges, Wahissa 118 by John E. Pannell on April 24th, 2007 at 1:15 am

Wahissa is one of the few North Carolina lodges in which it seems I do not have consistently great contacts. I hear about some stuff, but know I’m missing things.

Justin Stirewalt recently wrote me to tell me what I suspected: There are many Wahissa issues missing from both Blue Book and my site. His email gave me a brief list of what’s missing. Some of these are old issues that just never made themselves known to catalogue editors. Others are more recent pieces, where word of them has not yet gone much past the lodge.

He writes:

  • Wahissa Cook Crew Patches - here is a complete list of them. I don’t have the images. However, after graduation, I will work on putting together a set of the pictures for you. Some you have listed on your site already, some you don’t, but there were Cook Crew patches for 1975-1986, in 2005 for Conclave, and then from 2005-2009, they will be issued again. They were issued to the Cook Crew members.
  • For the 2005 and 2006 event issues, here is the list. I’ll get the pictures to you later:
  • 2005 - March Workday, Spring Fellowship, Ordeals, Fall Fellowship, Banquet.
  • 2006 - Spring Fellowship, Fall Fellowship.
  • Also, you need to list 2002 Fall Fellowship and 2003 Spring Fellowship
  • In terms of other things that you are missing from the lodge listing-
    • Achowelendam Chapter - 4 patches need to be added
    • Minsi Chapter - listed out of order, 7 patches need to be added
    • Tachaksin Chapter - 3 patches need to be added Eke Otkia Chapter - 4 patches need to be added
    • Canotka Chapter - never was a chapter in Wahissa Lodge, patch does not exist
    • 1974-1994 G. Kellock Hale Lodge Building patch

Justin said he’d try to scan these for me when he finishes school later this Spring. Can anyone please take some of the burden from him and send me scans sooner? There’s a LOT of things I’ll have to add. It will be easier for all of us if Justin wasn’t the only one sending images of these.
