The Geometry of Patches, Part 2

Posted in Patch Collecting by John E. Pannell on June 3rd, 2007 at 7:11 pm

1994-ne1a.jpgI had previously written a post titled ”The Geometry of Patches“, highlighting those patches that have taken the shape of regular polygons.  In that post I commented that I could not find a lodge or chapter issue that was shaped like a regular decagon.

Well, I still haven’t found a lodge issue, but I did find this section conclave patch.  Behold, the 1994 NE-1A Conclave patch, a regular decagon!

Thanks to Ray at “mattys_music” whose eBay auction made me aware of this patch and to Robert Sherman for providing a clearer image of this patch that I used here.

"Alice laughed: "There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things."
"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
