Wauna La-Mon’Tay 442 issues a Leather

For the first time in the history of 442 (Hyas Chuck, Skyloo and Wauna) a leather patch has been issued.  These were made at the annual LEC picnic and given to whomever wanted one.  My family acquired three since my wife and son attended.  These were branded and hand cut by the outgoing chief and his father.  I suspect that less than 50 have been created so far.  Plans are for another batch sometime in the future.

Why were they created? For a thank you gift and for use on ceremonies regalia.

The only other leather piece known to exist was issued by Cole Snass Lamatai early in its existance.  It was most likely a thank you gift from the lodge chief.  Only one of those has surfaced and it came from the personal collection of a longtime scouter that passed away a couple of years ago. That piece went for a tidy sum in the Ed Harris auction in 2005.
