Lodge 104: Leather Vigil Triangle

Posted in Occoneechee 104, SR-7B Lodges by John E. Pannell on July 20th, 2007 at 1:56 am

This Occoneechee item has been around for a while now, but never catalogued. From what I have been told, there seems to be some disagreement as to whether this is a lodge issue, which should be added to Blue Book, or not

Thanks again to Greg Grimes for sending me the image of this piece. He reports that this is presented to all of the lodge’s Vigil candidates once they are called out for this honor. After completing their Vigil, the new Vigil brother is presented another copy of this leather with their Vigil name inscribed upon it.

He assures me this is issued by the lodge. It is not — as is customary in some lodges in this area — a gift of individual Vigil brothers to new candidates and Vigil brothers.

This would be, to my knowledge, the lodge’s first and only leather issue. The Blue Book listing should look something like this:

Issue Bdr Color/Type Bkgd Name fdl/BSA Comments
L1? - C TAN RED - TRI; VIG
