2005 Wauna La-Mon’Tay 442 Activity Issues
This is the first of several articles that I will post on the activity patch issues of Waun La-Mon’Tay 442.
In a typical year Wauna La-Mon’Tay issues three activity issues. 2005 was not a typical year. We issued 4 (6 if you count variations).
The first issue was for our Native American Arts and Crafts Seminar. (In 2006 we renamed this event to Native American Arts and Ceremonies Seminar). This blue background patch had two varieties, with and without a button loop. By the way this is 442’s fancy way of saying Winter Fellowship.
The second patch issued was for the Rendezvous. This was the patch that brought forth the Northwest Native American Sea Bear Design. This patch had a Yellow/Gold background and only came with a button loop. This is our Spring Fellowship.
For a twist we decided to issue a jacket patch that featured all three designs for the year. Since we already had the design for the next event this was simple. As you can tell all three of the event patches fit together to form a large circle. We figured that if it looks likea jacket patch why not make a jacket patch and save some poor wife/mom some time sewing. This turned out to be a popular patch but alas we overordered. We still have these in the trading post.
The last patch issued for the year was for the LDC otherwise known as the Leadership Development Conference. The lodge puts on this event every year to prepare young leaders for the position in the troop, team, crew, chapter or lodge. It also gives them a little taste of what to expect in the week long training courses put on by the council. This patch has a green background and comes with and without a button loop.
As you can tell these patches form a larger patch. The designer of these patches was John Durbetaki, an associate advisor and pretty darn good artist.
Stay turn for more Oregon OA news.

Is there a way to purchase one of those “overordered” jacket patches?
For those interested - I have some of the jacket patches available for trade or purchase. Drop me an email and I will hook you up.
