W1A Conclave - 2007

Well last weekend witnessed the annual edition of the W1A Conclave, held at Hoodoo Ski Resort near Sisters, Oregon. Nearly 500 were in attendance which marks the umpteenth year in a row that the W1A conclave has had the highest attendance in Area 1 of the Western Region.
Again the section held an auction to fill the confers of the section. Over $12,000.00 was made which marks the 5th time in a row that the section has made over 10 grand in its auction. It is with pride that we boast the biggest section auction in the nation.
Seven patches and a pin were issued at this years event. The regular participants patch had and black border. The auction donator patch had a gold mylar border, staff had a silver mylar border and the collector’s edition had a green mylar border. There were three jacket patches - a regular issue for $15.00, A Patron’s jacket patch for $300.00 and a Special Edition Jacket Patch for $25.00 (Only 20 made - invitation only - I got one luckily). We also made a spirit award pin.
It was a great conclave and I picked up a few needs, but by in large the section, in fact the area, needs to do more to encourage patch trading. I also taught the patch trading class again. Todd Hatfield taught the Patch design Class.
