This is the third in an ongoing series of posts about state shaped patches. Previous entries have covered state shaped patches from North Carolina and Virginia.
The Palmetto State is a bit unusual when it comes to OA patch collecting. The five lodges in the state have yet to experience a merger. For most of their existence they have all be in the same section, currently SR-5. South Carolina collectors can also be rather passionate about their material. For some this passion can seemingly border on religious.
Three South Carolina lodges have issued patches in the shape of their state: Santee 116, Atta Kulla Kulla 185, and Skyuka 270.
"Alice laughed: "There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things."
"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
