These 50 States: Alabama
This is the seventh in an ongoing series of posts about state shaped patches. Previous entries have covered state shaped patches from Kentucky, Montana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
While I can find no lodge issues in the shape of Alabama, I did manage to find one chapter piece and a few events patches shaped like this state.
The 2000 Fall Fellowship patch, Blue Book listed as eX2000, is the first Alabama shaped patch I wish to list here. It is a bit of an oddity in a way. In 2000 Alibamu lodge decided it was going to temporarily change its name to Alabama, the name used by this lodge in the 1940s.
The next patch is a chapter issue from Kaskanampo. Blue Book lists this as the X1 Chiaha chapter.
The last on my list here for Alabama are the two 1989 Winter Gathering patches form Woa Cholena 322, listed in Blue Book as eX1989-1 and eX1989-2. The black bordered patch was for participants and the red bordered one for staff.
That’s all I have for Alabama. As always, please let me know if I’ve missed any others.

Cool, I designed the Kaskanampo 310 Chiaha Chapter patch. My initials are on the canoe. I think I was 15. The Indian Chief is holding up a freshwater mussell shell, which is the totem of the lodge. And he is standing on the shores of Jones Cove, backware to the Tennessee River at Camp Jackson in Scottsboro, Alabama, with the Pinnacle (rock-faced mountain top) in the background. This was Chiaha Chapter’s only patch issue.

Oh year, the patch was created in 1988 or 1989.
