It’s been slow around here the last few days in terms of patch news.  I will return to the state shaped patches.  Several drafts are in progress.   But for now I’ll stray from patches… 

Sometimes when a team can’t be as successful as a more famous rival, the temptation can arise to bend the rules a bit.   in this case it would appear the athletics department at Florida State University succumbed to that temptation… more than a bit.

According to a separate report I saw on television this evening, the illegal practices involving a tutor who has since been fired went back to last season as well as this one. 

Federal privacy laws prohibt the release of the names of the ineligible players.  However, it will soon be obvious who at least some of them are.   They’ll be the players not in Memphis at the end of this month.

Hmm… Both the Gators and Tarheels can win without having their players cheat on exams and assignments.
