These 50 States: Vermont
I keep meaning to get back to this series. However I other things seem to take up the time I need to get these together. There’s some classic OA memorabilia yet to come.
This is the thirteenth in an ongoing series of posts about state shaped patches. Previous entries have covered state shaped patches from Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Montana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Since the last post in this series covered Massachusetts, I thought I would stay in New England and move north to Vermont. This is going to be a rather short post as you might guess.
Throughout history five different lodges have existed in Vermont. Over time these have all merged into Ajapeu 351.
I am aware of no patches shaped like Vermont, but the state shape has been traditionally used in the patches of Ajapue 351. This includes a long list of flaps: S1-S7, S9, S15, S17, S18, S21, S22, S24, S27, S28, S30? and S32?. The state shape was also included in the lodge’s J2 - J4 and P1. It may also appear in other patches from this lodge that are not yet pictured on this site.
I was not able to find and representations of Vermont on the patches from any of the merged lodges.
I promised to do my best to post more state related patches on a more frequent basis.
