Lodge 70: 2008 LLD Patch Issued

Posted in SR-7B Lodges, Tsoiotsi Tsogalii 70 by John E. Pannell on January 24th, 2008 at 11:42 pm

I have just received word that the 2008 LLD jacket patch for Tsoiotsi Tsogalii lodge has arrived.   Our LLD was three weeks ago, but the patches could not be made available in time.   As with the 2007 issue, one each is issued to LLD participants and staff with the extras being sold to fund the next year’s LLD.

They will not be generally available to lodge members until next week.  However I am told at least one person has managed to get his in advance of the South Carolina TOR this weekend.

As with the 2007 issue, I am unsure whether this should be listed as an event piece (eJ2008-1?) or a regular lodge issue (J6?).   For now I am calling it J6 but that may change.

"Numbers written on restaurant bills within the confines of restaurants do not follow the same mathematical laws as numbers written on any other pieces of paper in any other parts of the Universe.
This single statement took the scientific world by storm. It completely revolutionized it. So many mathematical conferences got held in such good restaurants that many of the finest minds of a generation died of obesity and heart failure and the science of math was put back by years."

Sounds kinda like and event piece to me…dated, used for 1-event, event name…quack, quack, quack

  2. John E. Pannell Says:

Does it really name an event? Only the LLD logo is there; no event named.

Date? Lots of patches have dates on them and are lodge issues.

Used for one event? No, in fact they’re intended NOT for use at only that event with enough being made for general sale. In that respect, they’re like any other patch issued to raise funds for a future event.

I could go either way on this one (and last year’s, too).
