A Very Rough Week

It’s been a very rough week here. I’ll write about what happened to this site later. Thursday morning’s events capped the week off in grand fashion. I was fired.
My boss, someone I had considered a friend for over 25 years fired me for “economic reasons”. What that means is that a couple of months ago I had asked if I would see a raise this year. It was noted I was already paid more than others. So, I was fired so they could hire someone else to do my job more cheaply.
I’ve been rediscovering Stephen Sondheim’s musicals lately. In this early morning hour I just finished digitizing my taped copy of “Sunday in the Park with George”. The quote at the head of this post, from that show, seems appropriate in some way for the aftermath of the past week.
