Lodge 104: 2008 Spring Pow-Wow

Posted in Occoneechee 104, SR-7B Lodges by John E. Pannell on March 9th, 2008 at 12:14 am

104 eX2008-1?Next weekend Occoneechee lodge will hold their annual Spring Pow-Wow at Camp Durant.   In advance of that event, Greg Grimes sent an image of the patch the lodge will issue.

It’s an odd shaped patch on felt.   It looks like the wolf has grasped the lodge 104 thunderbird in its jaws.   However, if you look carefully you’ll notice the wolf appears to have no lower jaw.   Of course I have to give Greg some grief for the lodge’s abundant use of ECU purple and gold on its recent issues since he is an alumnus of that school.

The listing data for this issue is as follows:

Issue Bdr Color/Type Bkgd Name fdl/BSA Comments
eX2008-1? BLK C KHK BLK KHK fdl; on felt, Pow-Wow 2008

LOL….Actually we decided to do a series on ceremony headress’s this year. After not having many youth designs for a while, I finally got a youth interested in doing some designs after I held a class on patch designing at LLD this past fall. Our Spring Inductions patch, the Thunderbird will be wearing a Bear skin, Fall Fellowship a Buffalo headdress and Winter Banquet an Eagle…..Wolf eating the Thunderbird…you make me laugh oh great one of images!!!

Never even thought of it as a headdress. Sorry. My explanation was funnier. ;)

A wolf with no lower jaw?

Heck, the Occoneechee lodge area features a whole PACK of wolves that can’t really seem to bite much of anything.
