A Very Good Day for This Tar Heel!?

This is ACC tournament weekend, an important event for us here in the Southeast.

UNC squeaked out a last second win over Virginia Tech this afternoon.   Carolina now looks to repeat as the ACC champions.

In the second game Duke (aka “dook” or “Univeristy of New Jersey at Durham”) lost to Clemson.     Clemson will be playing in the ACC championship game for the first time since OA flaps were still a novelty.

Normally I would say that a day when UNC wins a big game and Duke loses an equally big game would be a very good day.   However, last time that happened I was let go from my job the next morning.   Now, I sit here waiting for bad news to follow this good fortune.

At least two North Carolina lodges, including my own, also had events this weekend but I attended none of them.   Spending time with family that came up from Wilmington, NC and watching the ACC tournament just seemed more pleasurable to me right now.
