Lodge 185: 1985 Fall Fellowship Neckerchief
I mentioned this piece in a recent post about possible unlisted chapter items from Atta Kulla Kulla lodge. When I had first written the post I did not yet have an image and wasn’t sure if it met the criteria to be listed as a neckerchief.
Thanks again to Charlie Moehlenbrock for letting me know about this item.
Once again, I’ll quote what Charlie had to say about this piece:
- “1985 Fall Neckerchief: Was made during the Fall Fellowship in the old dining hall. This was my first fellowship, and I cannot remember the adult, but was a fellow that had screen printing set up in dining hall for any member to make a neckerchief. He had These blue pieces of cloth and walked us through the process. I believe 15-20 were made. This being my first item in the lodge and being young, I did not hold it to much value till years later when I was cleaning out my stuff at my parents house, thus the stains. As you can see the emblem matches the patch.”
I’m glad he said the cloth is “blue”. From the photo I would have guessed it was white, rather than a light blue. The listing data for this piece should be as follows:
| Issue | Bdr Color/Type | Bkgd | Name | fdl/BSA | Comments | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| eN1985-3? | - | - | LBL | PUR | - | ssc; 1985 Fall Fellowship |

On the Sign-up form Brothers were told to bring a T-Shirt to the fellowship. So they could have this image screened onto the shirt. If you did not have a t-shirt. You could have the image screened onto a piece of this Light Blue cloth. The Cloth was left over from the 1985 National Jamboree. We screened N/C’s to give out at the Jamboree.
I was a member of AKK 185 from 1986-92. During the mid-80’s the screen printing was a part of several fellowships, and as Darrell has pointed out folks were instructed to bring a T-shirt and those that didn’t could get a neckerchief. At least that is how my aging mind remembers it….
