Help With Using Online Inventory
I was recently asked a question about using the online inventory feature in this site’s members area. In a way I was a bit embarrassed that I hadn’t thought of this before.
Each user has their own inventory file stored on the server which they can have sent to them, to use offline however they chose. The first field of the file indicates the lodge using an alphanumeric string that is the same as the first part of the file name for each lodge’s web page on this site. For example, the code for White Horse lodge is “201b”. I was asked if there was another file that could convert this to the lodge’s number or name.
I had never made such a file but it was very easy to create. If you want to use this with your online inventory download convert_name.txt by right clicking on the link and saving the file to your computer.
This file has three fields:
- The code used as the first part of the HTML pages for each lodge on oaimages.com;
- The historical lodge number used in Blue Book and on this site;
- The lodge number and name.
Most users should be able to easily parse this last field to extract just the lodge name if they so choose.
