2008 SR-7B Conclave

2008 SR-7B Patch - YEL arrowThe six lodges of eastern and central North Carolina gathered this past weekend at Camp Bowers for the 2008 SR-7B conclave. Klahican lodge acted as this year’s host. This year’s conclave also celebrated 75 years of the Order of the Arrow in North Carolina, started with the founding of Tali Taktaki 70 in 1933.

Greg Grimes and Roger Ward were at my home for dinner this evening and were able to fill me in on the many new issues that appeared at this event. In addition to the various lodge issues, the section produced several patches for this event. This post will deal with the three versions of the event patch.

I commend the brothers of Klahican lodge for designing what I think might be the most attractive conclave patch I have ever seen in North Carolina.

The first version of the event patch is pictured at the top of this post. Each registered delegate received one of these patches. It is distinguished by the yellow arrow and pocket loop.

A second version of this patch was produced with a red arrow, and no loop. This was the flap sold in the trading post and by pre-order. There was no restriction on the quantity of these anyone could purchase.

The third version of this patch features a white arrow. This was intended for members of the “host lodge”. There were approximately 130 extras of this patch that were sold at the trading post on Saturday, one per person.

I am testing a new feature of the current version of Word Press. Click on any of the images in the
gallery below to see a larger version of that patch.

    John,

There is also a Yellow version without the loop. This is the version you got if you preordered a yellow arrow patch. According to the preorder form, the yellow patch was the host patch, but it appears like the host lodge changed this somewhere in the process and released the delegate patch with the yellow arrow. There’s also a backpatch of the patch, there is only one version of that, it has the red arrow on it.

The red and yellow arrow patches were also put onto neckerchiefs. I have those scanned and may post them here later in the week.
