ShoppingAds Removed from Site

Observant users of this site will notice the ShoppingAds advertisements disappeared from the site yesterday.   Very observant users may have noticed a previous post that was on the bottom portion of this page promoting this same service had disappeared before that.

I have been experiencing some problems with ShoppingAds since late April.     I believed their accounting of website traffic was inaccurate.   Various reports on their site about my traffic contradicted each other.     Income had been below normal most of the year but really started dropping in April.   May’s total was less than half the running average.   So far, May is running at about 15% of what I would normally have expected.   Neither site traffic nor ad impressions have seen a similar drop.

I wrote ShoppingAds customer service folks several times about the reporting discrepancies.     I never had a response.     Then earlier Monday, I reread the terms of service and found a statement there that all reporting is by them is considered accurate after five days if there are no issues raised.     Since they generally take 3-4 days to get a permanent fix on the traffic numbers, it is difficult to rase and issue within that time frame.   Since I was questioning reports from one and two months past, it had become obvious what their response would be.

As a result of their complete lack of customer service I have removed all code related to ShoppingAds from this website. I cannot recommend anyone use this service. I will even go as far as to actively discourage people from using the service.

I am owed money for May that has not been paid because it is below the payment threshold for this service. June will not likely put me over that mark.   That would be unheard of for me.   I take this as more evidence that something is amiss with their reporting, especially since site traffic and ad impressions have not decreased.     I have written their “customer support” asking for the procedure to close out my account and pay me the money due… but of course I have had no response.   This was another reason to pull the ads immediately.   I have no desire to continue to run ads on this site for which I likely will not be properly paid.

ShoppingAds will soon be replaced by another affiliate on this site.     When that is done, I will announce it on this blog.
