1957 Area 6-A Fellowship
The eight lodges of eastern and central North Carolina were hosted by Nayawin Rar lodge at Camp Tuscarora for the 1957 Area 6-A Fellowship.
The patch for this event was unusual in a couple of respects.
This was the second of three flap shaped patches issued for North Carolina area fellowships. By 1957 flaps were becoming more prevalent so this was not quite as unusual as when the first flap conclave patch was issued in 1952.
Also, this was the first year that the host lodge was noted in the patch design. In this case, the central part of the patch is the traditional representation of Nayawin Rar’s totem which has since been used on many of their flaps. It would later become traditional to include the host lodge’s totem, or at least their name on the conclave patch.
