1955 Area 6-A Fellowship

Careful readers will have noticed that in previous posts on North Carolina section conclave and area fellowship items I jumped from 1954 to 1956. Last Saturday Woody Woodruff paid me a visit and helped me fill in this gap, and let me scan a lot of other items from his collection.
No patch was issued fro the 1955 Area 6-A Fellowship, host by Croatan 117 at Camp Croatan. Instead a neckerchief slide was made for the brothers who attended this event.
The design is made from molded plastic. The Indian head is raised, but the text is not. There is a plastic loop on the back.
This is arguably one of the most difficult North Carolina items to find. The plastic slide often didn’t hold up well over time. Some times some of the lettering might wear off. Many of them have the plastic loop on the back broken off. This piece can command a strong price from North Carolina conclave collectors.
