1950 Area 3B Meeting
Ah’Tic Lodge #139 hosted the 1950 Area 3B meeting for lodges of western Pennsylvania at Camp Mountain Run, in Penfield, PA. The patch was a red arrowhead-shaped felt with white silk-screened lettering.
At the start of 1950, Area 3B consisted of the thirteen lodges that had met in 1948 plus Packanke Lodge 419, which was chartered in 1949. Amadahi Lodge 441 was chartered in 1950, bringing the number of lodges in Area 3B up to fifteen.
Ah’Tic 139 is unusual among the early Area 3B lodges in that it is still in existence and has not gone through a merger. Through the 1950s and 1960s, Pennsylvania had many relatively small councils, most of which have since been involved in council and lodge mergers. Of the other lodges in the area, only Wagion 6 and Chief Cornplanter/Gyantwachia 255 join Ah’Tic 139 on the list of those still active and unmerged.
