1953 Area 3B Meeting
In 1953, the lodges of western Pennsylvania returned to the site of the 1948 Area F meeting, Camp Twin Echo near Ligonier, PA. Anicus Lodge #67 hosted the meeting, which was held the weekend of August 28-30.
This was the only 3B meeting for which no patch was issued. There were instead at least three neckerchiefs; a yellow neckerchief with a red silk-screened design, a red neckerchief with the same design silk-screened in yellow, and a version of the yellow neckerchief with a broad red border. The unbordered neckerchiefs have pinked edges.
In addition to the neckerchiefs, the Anicus Lodge “morale committee” distributed a “crying towel”; this was a brown paper towel, approximately a foot square, with a design printed on half of one side.
This was to be the last meeting of all the western Pennsylvania lodges as a group; the following year, the southwestern PA lodges would begin meeting separately as Area 3F.
There were sixteen lodges in Area 3B at the start of 1953:
- Wagion 6
