1954 Area 3B Meeting
In 1954, Ah-Tic Lodge #139 hosted the lodges of northwestern Pennsylvania for the Area 3B meeting at Camp Mountain Run. The patch features the deer totem of the host lodge. This was the first embroidered patch used in Area 3B; all earlier patches were screened designs on felt.
In 1954, only the lodges of northeastern Pennsylvania met as Area 3B. The lodges of southwestern Pennsylvania–including 1953 Area 3B host Anicus #67–split off as the new Area 3F.
The nine lodges remaining in Area 3B were:
- Eriez 46
- Ah’Tic 139
- Ho-Squa-Sa-Ga-Dah 251
- Chief Cornplanter 255
- Deer Rock 256
- Wopsononock 347
- Packanke 419
- Amadahi 441
- Allegewi 455
These nine lodges would continue to meet together until rearranged by the lodge mergers of the early 1970s.
This is the first of many Area 3B patches to designate the number of the event, which has caused some confusion. While 1954 was the seventh year since the first Area F meeting in 1948, there does not appear to have been an Area 3B event in 1949. This means that 1954 would have been the sixth actual area meeting.
