Southern Georgia OA Merger

Posted in Scouting News by John E. Pannell on March 10th, 2013 at 7:53 pm

There have been several mergers in the past few years.   As is the standard practice, the BSA councils first merge with the OA lodges merging after the council has been consolidated.    I can now report on a new lodge formed in Southern Georgia.

Alapaha lodge (formerly chartered to Alapaha Area Council in Valdosta, GA) and Immokalee lodge (from the former Chehaw Council in Albany, GA) have merged to form Withlacoochee lodge.   They will use the number 98 and their totem will be the Gopher Tortoise.   The two councils merged last year, forming the South Georgia Council.

There are no patches yet from the new lodge.    Thanks to Michael Baity for news of this newly formed lodge.
