1958 Area 3C Slide

The lodges of Area 3C met in 1958 at Camp Shenandoah in Swoope, Virginia; the host lodge was Shenandoah Lodge #258. This was the first area meeting at Camp Shenandoah or hosted by the lodge.

There was a plastic neckerchief slide for the event. The slide was red with an arrow and the letters “OA”, with “Camp Shenandoah” printed on the “O”, “Pow Wow Area 3C” printed on the A, and “1958″ printed on the fletching of the arrow. It was manufactured by Blue River.

1957 Area 3C Slide

The lodges of Area 3C met in 1957 at Camp Powhatan in the Blue Ridge Scout Reservation in Pulaski County, Virginia.  The host lodge was Powhatan Lodge #456; this was both the first meeting hosted by the lodge and the first at Camp Powhatan.

A hand-carved painted wood neckerchief slide was issued for the event; the slide has the profile of an Indian and has the area, “WWW”, and the year lightly stamped on the feathers of the headdress.

1956 Area 3C Patch

The lodges of Area 3C met in 1956 at Camp Theodore Roosevelt, near Chesapeake Beach, Maryland on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Amangamek Wipit Lodge #470 hosted the event; this was the first area meeting hosted by the lodge, which had officially changed its name from “Amanquemack” at the start of the year. This was also the only area meeting ever held at Camp Roosevelt.

The event patch was embroidered on white twill with a tab to cut a buttonhole, and featured the US Capitol with a superimposed arrow.
