Yes, 2005. That is not a typo. This patch had not been listed in Blue Book and until now not pictured on this site. Remember, items only get listed on this site if I know about them.
Croatan lodge issued this rather simply designed patch for their 2005 Fall Fellowship. The design features a traditional representation of the lodge’s deer totem on a blue background. As far as I know this is the only 2005 event patch from this lodge.

"Be wiser than other people, if you can, but do not tell them so."
Lord Chesterfield
Woody Woodruff recently met me at my home for lunch. He also brought along some of his more recent flaps to compare with what is already on this site. He brought to my attention this “Sponsor” flap from Croatan lodge that has not been previously listed on this site.
The previous sponsor flap, listed as S57?, has a tan border. This newer piece has a light blue border. He did not know when it was issued. We could only guess its proper place in the ordering of this lodge’s flaps based upon his having the piece for a year or so and the timing of other sponsor issues. The “X6?” was issued in 2005. The “S57?” was issued before the 2006 Conclave flap. So I am placing this piece as “S60?”, just before the 2007 Conclave flap.

"When you have eliminated the impossible, what ever remains, however improbable must be the truth."
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Finally, I am nearing the end of the new issues from the SR-7B Conclave.
Croatan lodge magically (?) depicted the Croatan Express on their 2008 Conclave flap. Some might say that it’s in homage to “rednecks” in the South that the lodge’s deer totem has been rendered as a railroading version of a hood ornament. This is a lodge that has previously demonstrated its ability to poke fun at itself with an odd design choice.

Croatan lodge issued a set of five flaps recently for this Summer’s ArrowCorps5 events. Each flap depicts one of the five locations the Order of the Arrow will be working at this Summer.
I have already seen these flaps at least twice on eBay, sold as a single lot. Thanks to Greg Grimes and Roger Ward for these images.

ShoppingAds Removed from Site
Observant users of this site will notice the ShoppingAds advertisements disappeared from the site yesterday. Very observant users may have noticed a previous post that was on the bottom portion of this page promoting this same service had disappeared before that.
I have been experiencing some problems with ShoppingAds since late April. I believed their accounting of website traffic was inaccurate. Various reports on their site about my traffic contradicted each other. Income had been below normal most of the year but really started dropping in April. May's total was less than half the running average. So far, May is running at about 15% of what I would normally have expected. Neither site traffic nor ad impressions have seen a similar drop.

1957 Area 6-A Fellowship
The eight lodges of eastern and central North Carolina were hosted by Nayawin Rar lodge at Camp Tuscarora for the 1957 Area 6-A Fellowship.
The patch for this event was unusual in a couple of respects.
This was the second of three flap shaped patches issued for North Carolina area fellowships. By 1957 flaps were becoming more prevalent so this was not quite as unusual as when the first flap conclave patch was issued in 1952.

Lodge 104: Elangomat Segments
Greg Grimes recently acquired a lot on eBay that consisted of several patches from Occoneechee lodge that have been missed by Blue Book. These are several segments for the lodge's "Elangomat Service" patch, listed in Blue Book as X21. The year segments were issued to those who served as an elangomat in those years. The "Spring Fall" segment required a person to serve as an elangomat in both the Spring and Fall of the same year.
I can see how these were missed.
First the Elangomat Service patch, X21, is listed out of order. Since it has to predate the 1999 segment, its correct chronological place is no later than between the X13 and X14. Apparently this patch was missed for a few years.
The Elangomat Service patch and its segments required a significant act of service to earn and were awarded one per person. As far as I know, none were made available for trading.

Lodge 188: 2007 LLD Patches
Thanks to Larry Banks for sending me word of a few new issues from Itibapishe Iti Hollo lodge.
Itibapishe Iti Hollo lodge issued two patches for their 2007 LLDC. The BLU bordered participant patch is pictured here.
My events listings for this lodge are probably very incomplete as I don't receive much information from this lodge about its issues. The tentative catalog numbers for these items will probably need to be changed if I receive word of other 2007 events issues from this lodge.

A New Regular Issue Wauna La-Mon'Tay Flap S68
by skyloo442
Well another two years have past and time again for Wauna La-Mon'Tay 442 to issue a new regular issue flap.
This flap was designed by a youth member of the lodge. This is a departure from the past several years where the lodge has gone with an adult design. The funny thing about this flap is that it reminds me of several flaps that Cahuilla 127 has issued over the last tem years.
This design will also serve as the basis for the lodge Leadership in Service flap that will be issued toward the beginning of 2009. I do not believe that the NOAC flap will include this design.
I have plenty of these for trade and I have them available on EBay. See you again.

Aal-Pa-Tah 237, the 2008 Scout Show service patches
by Robert Mathis
Since 1998, Aal-Pa-Tah Lodge 237 has served their fellow Scouts at the Gulf Stream Council, literally, by running a booth that sells meals to the attendees. Patches have been made each year for the barbeque pork and fried turkey since that first year, with additional pieces for the staff of the event. This year continues the baseball theme that began in 2006, but this was the first year with a different patch for the pork and turkey*.
