Timuquan Lodge 340 is ending one year of themed activity patches (2007-2008 “Classic Muscle Cars”) and beginning a new annual theme (2008-2009 “Pre-Columbian Florida Natives”), all in the same weekend.
The 2008 Summer Conclave will kick off the new annual series. The Lodge Banquet is held on Saturday night of the Summer Conclave, and for this event-within-an-event, the old theme will be completed, with the depiction of a 1969 Pontiac GTO.

Seminole Lodge 85 has finally released their activity patches for 2008 (originally delayed due to manufacturer problems). Much like all but one year of their activity patch sets since 2001, this is in the form of a puzzle set, with all six pieces coming together to form a large fleur d’lis. Each patch has the name of the particular event, as well as an image of a Seminole leader and an ibis (the lodge totem). What is lacking on each patch? The year. Hopefully, this will be not be a multi-year set.

O-Shot-Caw 265 has released their multiple sets for the lodge’s ArrowCorps5 contingent. Two of the sets were available for sale as fundraisers, while a third set was distributed to the contingent only, at 2/ person.

AOL Block Removed
Some here might be aware of the problems some users of this site have experienced, namely in getting communcations from me, especially if they had AOL addresses. In short AOL has been blocking email from this site's server since early this year.
I can finally report good news on this front. I received this message from an "AOL postmaster" this morning:
The block on the IP has been removed and please allow 24 hours for the block to be cleared.
Thank you,
Sridhar
AOL Postmaster.
The block has been removed. I will update the subscription pages on my site to reflect this later today or tomorrow.

Patch Collecting Posts

Adding to the Collection
Since my collecting interest is very restricted, it's not often I get to add to my personal collection. This patch came in the mail to me today. It was issued last weekend at the Atlanta Trade-o-ree.
Bullions are rather unique items, a synthesis of both wire work and traditional embroidery. There aren't very many different ones. Lodges tend to issue there in small quantities. Some of them are very scarce.
I think this piece turned out nicely, for the most part. If I had a list of my favorite bullions this one would probably rank high on it. Cahuilla 127 B2 probably is still my favorite among the recent bullions.

Ed Harris Memorial TOR Report
by skyloo442
The Portland, Oregon (Ed Harris Memorial) Trade -o- Ree has just ended. I want to thank all of those that attended and those that helped put on this event. We accomplished my two main goals - raise some money for the council and provide a great trading atmosphere for all of those that came.
We had some people that traveled a great distance, Dean Gross from Ohio, The Marvins from California, Bruce Lee from Wyoming and many from Washington.
Some great pieces exchanged hands either by trading or the small informal auction that was held. Bruce is going home with a Hyas Chuck 442 N2 (A hard piece in the NW and overall), Another member went home with a Hyas Chuck F2 (Hard to find, especially mint). Some choice Washington classic flaps also changed hand, and I picked up some classic Idaho flaps and some new issues from Idaho as well.
The TOR was well attended but did not reach the attendance goal I had wanted, but we came very close. Next year we will do it again with some improvements, especially now that I have a quality assistant and a very good registrar. Stay tuned for my announcement for next years TOR. Until then I hope to see many of you at the Western Washington TOR at the end of February.

1955 Area 3B Conference
by Dave Scocca
In August of 1955, Eriez Lodge #46 hosted the lodges of northwestern Pennsylvania for the Area 3B conference at Camp Sequoyah, in Springfield Township near the shores of Lake Erie. The patch for the conference was a white felt round with a silk-screened red and black design.
This is among the largest early conclave patches, with a diameter over four inches.
